1 year agoTaiwan's Mainland Affairs Council said it heard no "substantial response" from HK govt about proposal to let Taiwanese officers bring murder suspect Chan Tong-Kai back to Taipei tomorrow. MAC said Taiwan govt had already shown utmost sincerity and effort.

1 year agoTaiwan's Ministry of Justice & Mainland Affairs Council are holding a presser calling on HongKong to take responsibility on Chan Tong-kai's case. They said HK should sit down with Taiwan to discuss matters on judicial cooperation, but not simply asking Chan to come himself
TW Minister of justice Tsai Ching-hsiang denied Taiwan will reject to take in Chan Tong-kai, but stressed that should be done formal mutual legal assistance. He said the priority remain for HK authority to hold Chan in custody before he's freed
